"Children will remember you not for the material things you provided, but for the feeling that you cherished them."
-Gail Grenier Sweet
I love this quote. It reminds me what being a mother is really about. It is about loving and caring for your children, teaching them, and preparing them for everyday life the best that you can. I am so blessed to be a mother. My children bring a new light to my life everyday. I couldn't ask for a greater gift from God.
On that note, my day started out like one of a true mother. We had a homecoming to get to by 9:00. I got up at 6:30 to make sure everything ran smoothly and to asure we would be on time. I showered, got ready, fed Mayzie breakfast, gave the girls a bath, got them dressed and curled their hair. They both looked adorable and we had plenty of time to get to church on time. Hallie said she wasn't hungry, but I insisted that she eat some oatmeal. She started to cough on some flem. Then it gagged her and she threw up water all over her dress. I stayed calm and changed her clothes, fed her the oatmeal and we were on our way. We got there with 5 minutes to spare, found a good seat and were ready to listen. Things were going great when I looked over at Hallie and she was holding her hand over her mouth with the look of death on her face. I grabbed the diaper bad and shoved it in her face. Blaaaah, here it came. Oatmeal and water filled the diaper bag. I grabbed both of the girls and we went home with out hearing my friends talk. Apparently Hallie is sick and I didn't know it. She has thrown up 2 more times since then and has been laying around all day. Oh the joy's of motherhood.......... We get the good and the bad, that is what makes it fun though right...
I hope all you mother's out there have a great day.
